Founder of About Disco Records label, his mixes reveal essences of Jazz, Soul, Funk, Disco, Afrobeat and House. Artists such as Herbie Hancock, James Brown, Quincy Jones, George Benson, Marvin Gaye, Gil Scott, Stevie Wonder, Bill Withers, Charles Mingus, Miles Davis, Dave Brubeck, Fela Kuti, Gino Soccio, Cerrone, Prince, Tim Maia, George Duke , Jamiroquai, among others are the main influences on his career.
Several of his productions have been sold and downloaded in more than 50 countries in Europe, South America, Central America, North America, Africa, Asia and Oceania. His first major EP was Sweet Flute, launched in 2013 by DeepBeat Records, followed by others like Jack Disco which was re-released in his own label two years later. The EPs Atomic Disco, Groove At The Moon, Boogie At Night, Yourself and Summary Of Dawn also are part of the About Disco discography.
Rafael along with the About Disco Records have been supported from some of the biggest names in the scene such as: Greg Wilson, who has played the edit Silver Convention – Fly Robin Fly (Rafael Cancian) at Bestival in 2015 and the edit Tim Maia Sossego (Rafael Cancian), which was praised by Danny Krivit. Furthermore, Horse Meat Disco, JKriv, Faze Action, Max Essa, Dicky Trisco, Pete Herbert, The Reflex, Afshin (DJOON Paris) stated their support and admiration for About Disco Records label.
